Born and raised in Washington DC, Maren is an: adventure loving; flamenco dancing; social justice advocating; technologically inept; culturally confused (and ok with it); outspoken; dyslexic; environmentally conscious; traveler; Chinese food and glitter addict; who 'asks too many questions'. 

As an actor she has worked throughout the United States on numerous theater including Center Stage (Baltimore, MD), Hanger Theatre (Ithaca, NY), and BoarsHead (Lansing, MI).  She has performed in touring productions in Italy and Palestine (West Bank and East Jerusalem) in addition to performing in shows in England and Germany.  Her favorite artistic adventures overseas were having her play Still Small Voices produced in Arabic and touring around the West Bank as a performer with ‘Sharia Simsim’ (Palestinian Sesame Street).   

In Chicago Maren has worked as a clown with Piccolo Theatre, a physical theatre devisor with Chicago DanzTheatre Ensemble, a stilt walker with Redmoon Theatre and Newmoon, an improviser with Improv Playhouse, a teaching artist with Beverly Art Center, an MC with The Comedy Shrine, a new play workshopper with The Mammals, and singer/dancer National Pastime Theatre.

Maren also works as a producer.  She is the owner and creator of Escape Artistry and was the former executive producer of Room Escape Adventures, the first room escape company in Chicago. 

Maren received a BFA (with honors) in Acting and Theater Arts from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. She has also studied with Second City in Chicago, and at BADA in London. Maren is represented by Ambassador Talent.
