Jeffrey Levin

Jeffrey Levin is a composer, sound designer, and musician based in Chicago IL. Jeffrey is happy to return to Halcyon after previously working on The River Bride (Equity Jeff Nomination for Sound Design) has contributed original music and sound designs for around 100 productions for various theaters in and outside of Chicago. He has collaborated with Steppenwolf, Steep, Strawdog, A Red Orchid, Oracle, Cor Theatre, Windy City Playhouse, Emerald City, Theatre Wit, Collaboraction, Albany Park Theatre Project, The House Theatre, TUTA, Greenhouse Productions, Jackalope, Stage Left, Chicago Commercial Collective, Chicago Fringe Opera, ChiArts High School, and Columbia College. Regionally he has worked with Hope Summer Repertory Theatre (Holland, MI), Denver Center for Performing Arts (Denver, CO), and Children’s Theatre Madison (Madison, WI). Awards and recognitions include six Joseph Jefferson Award Nominations for Sound Design and Original Music and one win for The Hairy Ape (Oracle Theatre), Edes Award for Emerging Artists, the Michael Philippi prize for best professional exhibit (2016), Kleinman Composition Competition winner for his original work for Clarinet and Electronics, two Broadway World nominations, TimeOut Theatre Award nomination, and a Wilde Award Nomination. Jeffrey received his Masters of Music in Composition at DePaul University and Bachelors of Music in Composition at Columbia College Chicago.
